The Aquarius New Moon 2012, occurs January 22 (11:39 PM PST) or January 23 (2:39 AM EST), 2012. This is the first New Moon of 2012! Therefore, Aquarius is about awakening, freedom, cooperation, innovation and breakthroughs.

So, What’s being awakened within you that‘s “New”?  Are you having innovative ideas and/or breakthroughs? Wanting more freedom?  Have you experienced more cooperation recently?  These are some possibilities during this New Moon time.

New Moon’s are a time for New Beginnings and is a lunar phase that happen each month. This lunar phase occurs when the Sun and Moon come together, forming a conjunction (Moon is between the Earth and the Sun, as viewed from Earth).

The Sabian Symbol for the moon (Aquarius 3°) according to Dan Rydhyar in an Astrological Mandala, “The individual’s self-realization through a crucial repudiation of a collective status which has become unbearable”. This symbol is about Awakening.

2012 Chinese New Year is the year of the Water Dragon. Chinese New Year begins at sunset, following the first New Moon after the Sun enters the sign of Aquarius in China.  Dragon is a symbol of good fortune and new beginnings.  This year Chinese New Year runs from January 23, 2012 – February 10, 2013.
